FAQ

QWHEN IS A GOOD TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT IMPACT AND CREATIVE DISTRIBUTION?

A. We encourage you to think about distribution as early as possible, and to include distribution in your initial film budget. We like to be involved early and ideally at the rough cut stage.

Q. WHAT IF MY FILM HAS BEEN RELEASED OR WE’RE ALREADY WORKING WITH A DISTRIBUTOR?

A.  Once your film is widely available to the public, on a streaming platform or attached to a traditional distributor, we might not a good fit for the project.

Q. CAN I SUBMIT MY FILM FOR YOU TO WATCH?

A.  Yes! We love watching films and will be happy to take a look at yours, time permitting. Send us a screener and password using the link at the bottom of the page. We will never share it with anyone.

Q. I’M INTERESTED IN EDUCATIONAL DISTRIBUTION, CAN YOU HELP?

A.  We have extensive experience planning creative distribution plans that are focused on the educational market. Additionally, Twin Seas Media is an official supplier for KANOPY, one of the largest and most carefully curated educational streaming platforms reaching thousands of public libraries and universities in the U.S. and worldwide.

Q. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?

A. Twin Seas Media was founded in 2015. Our team has over 20 years of experience in film and television, and a solid understanding of writing and producing films that informs our strategy and decision-making.

Q. HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

A. Our fees vary depending on the scale and scope of the project. Typically, creative distribution and Impact campaigns are done on a monthly retainer based.

We also offer consulting sessions to answer pressing questions, provide advice about specific needs, or guide you through your own impact campaign or release. Consulting starts at $250 per hour with discounts available when booking 5, 10 or 20 hours.

Contact us to discuss your needs and get an estimate.

Q. DO YOU TAKE RIGHTS FROM MY FILM?

A. Most of our work doesn’t involve taking any rights including creative distribution campaigns, semi-theatrical and theatrical tours, film festival circuits, etc. We do need to discuss rights when it comes to educational distribution through streaming.

Q. I’M INTERESTED IN DISTRIBUTING MY FILM IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET. DO YOU HAVE CONNECTIONS OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES?

A. We can make it part of your package to position your film for sale in Europe, Latin America, Canada and Asia through our distribution partner Feel Sales, an international sales agency dedicated to documentary films based in Madrid, Spain.
